For the past few years, I started creating a word of the year to start each year off with something I wanted to cultivate.

It has become a ritual. Each year, I buy canvases and my daughters and I paint them with our words.

Last year, my word was “Balance.” Over the course of the year, there were several areas in my family and work life that brought more balance into my life. All of the changes that came about were miracles.

You can cultivate miracles in your life too. You don’t have to buy canvases to do it. Just think of a word that represents a deep desire you have inside of you.

Here’s some ideas:

  • Balance
  • Fun
  • Music
  • Laugh
  • Bright
  • Self Care
  • Relax
  • Calm
  • Peace
  • Love
  • Healing
  • Alignment
  • Self Love
  • Acceptance
  • Let go
  • Prosperity
  • Alive!
  • Gratitude
  • Wisdom

Which one seems to speak to you the most? Claim it as your word of the year.

I recommend creating or finding a piece of art to represent your word of the year. Hang the artwork or put the object in a place where you will see it everyday. When you look at the word or visual representation of it, you will reinforce your desire for this to happen and it will start to happen for you! That’s how you create a miracle by putting your focus and intention on what you want to happen then wait and watch it happen.

What word of the year will you claim for 2014?
